We felt VERY safe in Tallinn. I am posting, though, as a reminder to continue to be aware of you surroundings and your things. We had several bags stolen from a church where we were serving. It was in a very touristy area where is was SUPER easy for anyone to just walk in a look around. So, just be cautious 🙂

Euphoria hostel is a really neat, hip place to stay if you come into Tallinn for a weekend off! It was a little pricy at 13 euros a night but if you are looking for somewhere with an interesting vibe this is the place!
Our team spent the month at United Backpackers Hostel! It’s clean, the owner and staff are very accommodating, and it was within budget for our team to stay in a large studio room all month!
Avoid Red Emperor Hostel it was 6.90 Euro a night, but our whole team felt an unease about the atmosphere. We felt spiritually uneasy there and did not stay.
We stayed in the “Old House” Hostel for one night. It was right in the middle of Old Town (very pretty). They were very accommodating and let us have the internet booking price of 7 Euro for our rooms.

We visited NOP with our host from Focus Church. It’s a great option if you are looking for something a little more all-natural, vegan-y. Loved the atmosphere for breakfast and one-on-ones and such. It’s not super pricey, either!
Caffeine is a great coffee shop chain located around Tallinn – good coffee and the price ain’t bad! If you are looking for a caffeine pick me up and stellar wifi, go check it out!
Walk to Wok is an on-the-go Asian restaraunt – you fix your plate just how you like it and get a belly full of goodness for a great price!
Oh “Texas my Texas!” In Old Tallinn there’s a restaraunt called TEXAS with great TexMex and an awesome old western vibe. The owner takes his staff to visit the Lone Stare state once a year and they are dedicated to replicating “heaven on earth” (aka Texas) right here in Estonia!
Loca is a pizza place on the outside of Old Tallinn! The prices were decent and the pizza was really good!
The Living Room Cafe at maantee 10141, Pärnu maantee 9, 10141 Tallinn is an amazing Christian cafe that knows world racer. They have a church on Sundays and do street ministry on weekends. Super cool people work there and love to talk and help out missionariea
Eat = cheap dumplings and good ice cream
III Draakon = 1 Euro meat pies, Good medieval soup and you can fish for all the pickles you want. Really neat place looks like a dungeon.

YES to the Telliskivi area comment below! There is a leather craft shop where you can make leather bracelets and keychains for FREE. #inWRbudget. It’s called the Tallinn Craftory. They are super kind and we had a chance to share a little about the Race and such. If you aren’t working with Focus Church, run across the street and say hello! They are a great community of believers and totally worth connecting with.
The Telliskivi area is super hipster and fun. They have pop up shops, art areas, and restaurants. Totally worth going to check out and spend an afternoon in.
Forum Cinema is a movie theater located in Coca-Cola Plaza – they show the latest releases in English! It’s a great off day activity when you are in need of relaxing and want a piece of home (or craving popcorn??)!
On off days Old Tallinn is really fun to explore – the buildings, churches and castles date back to the 13th century! There are lots of shopping and restaraunts to stop in along the way!

FOCUS CHURCH! Our contact for the month was Shannon Huett with Focus Church which is an Assemblies of God church plant in the Telliskivi area. It was started by Americans (with the hope of eventually turning it over to locals) and it is a great place. Join them for worship on a Sunday at 12PM or on Wednesday night for prayer from 6:30-7:30. You can wear jeans, it is come as you are and a super encouraging group of folks. Be sure to meet Chrissy and Grit while you are there too.If you are in town and looking for things to do, reach out to Shannon at shannonrhuett@gmail.com and ask if there is anything you can help with or any event they would want to partner with. She is super open and loving towards Race teams and would likely enjoy doing something. (during our month when she hosted us, we taught classes, salsa lessons, bubbles in the park to advertise their kids camp…a lot of stuff)
