Ministry Summary

Ministry Summary in Armenia, Colombia
Breakthroughs? Suggestions? Concerns? On a scale of 1-4 (1 being not at all, 4 being absolutely) how strongly would you recommend another World Race team go to this ministry location & why?

People’s Opinions

  1. Ministry was AWESOME!! We worked with farm schools Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8-12 then on the evenings of those days we worked with the after school program which was really chill and my team spilt up so we wouldn’t be there everyday! We had Monday and Wednesdays off. We had a lot of free time also we worked with the youth in Armenia, which was fun just hanging out getting to know them and leading a youth service with testimony and a message.

People’s Opinions

  1. Karson and Eyson were our main source of transportation everywhere. To the farm schools we took a jeep that was arranged by our host!
  2. We used Flota Occidental to travel from Medellin to Armenia. The bus company is pretty welll known in Colombia and popular. You have to take a shuttle from the airport in Medellin to the city center, then get a taxi to the South Domestic Terminal. The bus station is located right next to it. The booth number for Flota is “13.”

Information on local hospitals / doctors / pharmacies. Where would someone go in a medical emergency? (addresses and contact info).

What activities did your team experience? Recommendations? List locations/contact info. Any locations to be avoided? Any extra safety tips for off days?

People’s Opinions

  1. We are month 11 racers so off days are mostly chill and hangout at home or at the local coffee shop and get wifi. There is a gym really close by to go workout. Also we traveled to Salento to go shopping and to see a new town.
  2. If you are looking for a tattoo, we highly recommend Fernando at W.C Tattoo. 3 of our team members got them there. Great guy, his English is above average! Decent prices, you won’t find a lot better in this area.
