People’s Opinions

  1. Be ready to do whatever they need. Everyday was something different, from street evangelizing, to children’s programs, to preaching in the church, to home visits and Pastor is not afraid to put you on the spot. He is great at discipling and pushing you out of your comfort zone to learn more about christ. Also Pastor wants to know you deeply, so connect with him!

People’s Opinions

  1. Our team and one other team stayed with Mama Christina and Pastor Willy. There were 14 of us and we all fit comfortably. The upstairs to their house is where we stayed and they were so accommodating. The only bummer was cold showers and only having one bathroom. Once we figured out a schedule the bathroom was no longer a stress point. Pastor and Mama were so accommodating and hospitable. Mama Christina is an amazing cook and they cooked all our meals for us. They have 4 grown boys that lived at the house while we were there. They all have walked away from the Lord so we were able to have sweet conversations with them and tried to point them back to the Lord when we had the opportunity. The cost per person was $4 for lodging with them.

  1. Mama Christina cooked for us everyday. She is a wonderful cook. We also found out that down the street from the house was a restaurant that had really good milkshakes and brownies. the little stores are wonderful and they all sell chokies (the best cookies)! We paid $5 per person per day for food.

People’s Opinions

  1. We took busses everywhere and we walked. The Church we were staying above was actually a bus stop which made things really convenient. You just need to make sure you get a metro pass when you first get there.

People’s Opinions

  1. Go to district 13 and take a grafitti tour. Or take a pablo Escabor Tour. The other cool place we found was the revolúcion cafe. It was the only place we could find that actually used ground coffee beans for coffee.

  1. Love on Pastor Diego and Mama Olga as well. You will get to work with them for parts of the month and they are powerhouses for the kingdom. Also Samuel their son was so fun and outgoing. He wants to learn english and is willing to practice the few phrases he knows on you.
