People’s Opinions

  1. -We got the unique opportunity to partner with Alari and open up “Elutuba Cafe.” Which mean the living room. The goal was to build relationship by opening a hang out spot for the youth to come to. There was free space for creativity and deciding as a team what events to do. We hung out and lived life with the students who came into the cafe.* We found that the best way to do ministry was to stay consistent on days we were open and hours.* The best way to impact the students was through loving them and building relationship as people as opposed to shoving the gospel in their face.* By our team just living them and wanting to hang out the kids hearts warmed to our mission and we could talk with them about Jesus in our lives and theirs.* The students will want to spend as much time with you as possible. Keep to your hours and fight for team time. Spending time alone and as a team is just as important as the ministry with the students.

  1. Alari rented an apartment for our team.– The apartment has one big room, one small room, a kitchen, and a bathroom.– We slept of foam mattresses on the floor (which were quite comfortable)– 7 people living in the space was a little cramped but we arranged the rooms so it would best suit our needs.– Bathroom had sink, toilet, and a shower head. The water was very warm!– The apartment was across the street form our ministry sight, and walking distance to all grocery stores.
