Safety

Safety in Tbilisi, Georgia
What do other Racers need to know in order to be safe? Current safety protocols/precautions in place? Any relevant issues/concerns? Any precautionary suggestions?

People’s Opinions

  1. Safest country we’ve been to so far! Bus systems are friendly, people are nice. Tbilisi, we haven’t felt unsafe here so far. There are talks about pick pocketing, but probably no more than any other countries. Just be your usual mindfulness of your belongings!

Ministry Summary

People’s Opinions

  1. Wow! There are a lot of ministries here! A few to check out: Calvary Chapel Tbilisi Church – (9 Ia Kargareteli Street, T’bilisi 0102)
Sunday services at 11am, in an English Learning Program building. Definitely worth checking out, only about 15-25 in congregation! Take them out for lunch and share some stories!
Coffee and Culture Cafe Shop – (22 Zhiuli Shartava Street T’bilisi, 0160) Christian owners! most of the staff is Christian too! Please support them and help them as they are a light in this city! Great place to do bible study and debriefs as well as board game nights to minister/evangelize to the public! Caritas – (2d Tornike Eristavi St, T’bilisi) Soup kitchens, clothes sorting, and many other programs here! They’ve been around for 25 years. A Christian (possibly Catholic, but very much loves Jesus from our experience in conversation) organization that you can easily help them out with practical hands! The grannies in the soup kitchen are the best! Baptist International Church – (??????? ????, T’bilisi) Went here for a service, there is a good translator here who does evangelism on the streets and in bible studies. Possible leads to doing ministry with them too. Please contact me for contact information! heywesley@gmail.com / instagram: @heywesleyc

People’s Opinions

  1. I downloaded an app called “taxify” to get us all over the city. It is very similar to Uber and relieves a lot of the pressure involved with bartering for a good taxi price. There is also a bus station called Didube where you can find marshutka’s (mini buses) that will take you out of tbilisi and into smaller villages all over Georgia. Station Square is also the train station and a place to get a Marshutka. There is also a Metro that you can take to travel all over tbilisi.

Medical

Medical in Tbilisi, Georgia
Information on local hospitals / doctors / pharmacies. Where would someone go in a medical emergency? (addresses and contact info).

People’s Opinions

  1. American Medical Centers is the greatest overseas hospital I have been to. Easy walk in service, very accommodating staff, familiar with WR insurance, and bills insurance directly (once you’ve reached your deductible… instead of patient fronting money and being reimbursed). 11 Dimitri Arakishvili St, Tbilisi 0179
