We did sponsorship program this month and took pictures of the children and uploaded it to the computer to send to their sponsors. We also did manual labor and helped plow a field.

We had a room and beds for each of us. One shower/bathroom in our area that had warmish water. We had a stove and oven but no fridge. However there’s markets where you can buy produce and meat within walking distance. My team bought food and cooked it that day, every day.

There’s a restaurant down the street called ratatouille that’s good, and the pizza place is good. We cooked most our own meals though.

There’s an I ternet cafe in the square that you can connect to the wifi with. There’s a lot of cafes so you’ll have to find the right one, over by where the venders are. There’s plenty places to buy minutes for SIM cards.

People’s Opinions
There’s an ATM in the square. Sometimes it runs out of money. You can only use it twice a day so get the maximum amount out. This is the only ATM so be weary of holidays because it’s closed then. Also my schwab card didn’t work in that ATM so I had to use the ATM in Antigua.

Off Days / Fun Activities
Off Days / Fun Activities in Parramos, Guatemala What activities did your team experience? Recommendations? List locations/contact info. Any locations to be avoided? Any extra safety tips for off days?

Antigua is only a 30 minute bus ride from paramos. You could go on Friday night and stay the weekend if you wanted, or just make a day trip. It’s like, $1 to get there via chicken bus.
I also took a quick day trip to gust cuty for Starbucks. It cost around $3 one way, but ta know, desperate times. There’s absolutely nothing to do in paramos though.
