Safety

Safety in Gracias, Honduras
What do other Racers need to know in order to be safe? Current safety protocols/precautions in place? Any relevant issues/concerns? Any precautionary suggestions?

People’s Opinions

  1. Gracias is a fairly safe town. We felt safe riding moto taxis into and out of town. It is safe for two girls to walk around during daylight by themselves. Be careful at night. Make sure to be where you need to go before the moto taxis stop running.

  1. Victor wasn’t really involved in our ministry for the month, so we were on our own with ATL and evangelism.
  2. A good place to grow for listening prayer.

  4. Rating (1-4): 3
  5. Previous Racer :  “This was the first month my team was alone and we were forced to spend time together and learn how to love each other. We had a big breakthrough when we all stepped out of our comfort zones to do street evangelism.”

  3. We stayed at the Goodwin’s home this month. They had a little one bed/one bathroom apartment to put our stuff in. We had one full bed to share. There is hand wash laundry. Two people did night shift and slept inside with the babies each night. 4 people tented and people switched through sleeping in the bed.

People’s Opinions

  1. We walked everywhere 3+ miles a day.
  2. We rode on buses to get from Tegus to Gracias. Took the Carolina bus to La Esperanza and then to Gracias on a little bus. Transportation was $3 per day, but we really didn’t go anywhere. We should have asked to use some of that money to pay for moto taxis when we needed to ride to town for groceries, etc.
