What do other Racers need to know in order to be safe? Current safety protocols/precautions in place? Any relevant issues/concerns? Any precautionary suggestions?

  1. All Tribes Cafe is an open latticed hut that is very safe, but also very open. Be aware that creepy crawlies can get in, as well as mosquitos, but there was no evident danger. Make friends with the locals that are nearest to the hut, like Nargila– they were very helpful when said creepy crawlies were stuck inside;). We were there during off-season, so the area was quiet, but we felt pretty safe overall. P.s. Ravi, the milk man, is super helpful and kind! He always told us, “No need to worry, I am here. I will protect you.” He lives close by, so if you ever need anything, he is willing to help.
  2. If you are with Pastor Christopher’s ministry, you will travel to Bellary on the weekends for church. The air there is very polluted which resulted in one of our Teammates developing a rash.
  3. Pastor Christopher does not like if you play fight or wrestle in his Coffee Shop. I can’t blame him because it resulted in one of our Teammates spraining her toes after kicking another Teammate in the shin. Respect yo Contacts!

Where did you stay? What were the accommodations (sleeping arrangements, toilets, showers, etc.)? Cost (per person per night in USD), Contact info.

  1. We slept at the cafe too, but we set up 4 of our tents on the inside. With the cafe being open air, our tents protected us from the mosquitoes and other bugs. There is a western toilet, but there is no toilet seat or running water–you have to pour a bucket of water into the toilet to make it flush.
  2. We actually slept at All Tribes Cafe. Pastor Christopher provides mosquito nets, mats, and pillows. There is a western toilet and shower in a building separate from the coffee shop.

  1. You have a couple of options: 1) You can order groceries and make food at the coffee shop. Pastor Christopher will show you how to do this, or 2) You can eat out for every meal. There are a bunch of great restaurants in the area like the Laughing Buddha, Evergreen, and Hidden Garden. Our Team did this. It is really easy to eat out on budget which was $4 per day for us
